Cumin & Green Chili Shortbread

I am convinced that Talkback Spicy Shortbread is "Da Best" cookie around. I am a cookie fan. It is hard to make a bad cookie. Shortbread is maybe my favorite...maybe because of the simplicity of ingredients...but when it is good the flavor lingers in your memory long afterward.

What is genius is combining green chile and cumin. Green chiles, Hatch Chiles, in particular, are one my top craveable tastes. Cumin adds its own standalone flavor in whatever you add it to. Adding these two flavors to shortbread is simply remarkable. It may not be Hatch Chiles, but the green chiles shine. The cumin leaves such its signature after taste. I love it.

These cookies present such care in choosing the best ingredients and respect for each component. No hiding or disguising taste. Unique! Quality! Unforgettable!

Simply, Da Best!

These perfectly-sized and spiced shortbread cookies are one of the most memorable snacks I’ve had in a while. Curry leaves lends a beautiful flavor—finished my bag in a day! The chocolate flavor is not too sweet and redolent of Mexican hot chocolate. Can’t wait to try more products from Talkback.

I really enjoy this with tea. The cookie is very flavorful and you can definitely taste the spices. These are great for people, like me, who like a small bite while enjoying a hot beverage.

When I pop a Talkback Cumin & Green Chile Spicy Shortbread in my mouth, I'm hit with two waves of overwhelming emotions. First, I’m filled with existential dread and sorrow. Because as the buttery bread crumbles in my mouth, and the cumin and green chili spices dance across my palate, I realize that there are millions of shortbread lovers in the world who have no idea what shortbread can truly be. I see across vast oceans and snowy mountain peaks, to friends laughing together and enjoying their shortbread treats, and I’m filled with heartache as what they’re eating is in fact dryer lint mixed with failed ambition by comparison.

But then the second wave hits, and I think, “should I buy a boat? Maybe I should call my mother? I should run outside and help that senior cross the road!” What I’m saying is, I’m filled with hope of a better future. A brighter future. A future that doesn’t have to be filled with faking that your friend’s homemade shortbread, which they insist on bringing to every party, is barely passingly edible! Talkback Spicy Shortbread reminds me that there are new trails to blaze! There are new flavors with which to enrich our lives! There is a brighter future – and it starts with popping one of these (probably illegally) delicious treats in your mouth, and saying, “I’m done with mediocre shortbread, it’s time to Talkback!”

I really liked these cookies and am now debating if these or the chocolate ones are better. These cookies reminded me of jalapeño cornbread except spicy. I really like the texture of these cookies and the blend of spice was perfect. My brother actually wanted to take the entire bag and I had to tell him no lol!
